The story behind the coffee
The history of coffee in my family started in Lambari city, Minas Gerais state.My grandfather Francisco Paulinho de Sousa, the pioneer, worked only with dairy cattle, however, at that time the labor was manual, sacrificed and was no longer generating profitability. My father Francisco Paulinho de Sousa Filho suggested that they start planting coffee on the farm. They started planting in the highest areas of the farm, with the aim of protecting itselves from severe frosts, the common weather event at that time. Still inexperienced, the harvest was done with a sieve tied around the waist and initially the transport took place in oxcarts. The commercialization was of non-processed coffees in the cities.
Over the years, my brother Ronaldo and I started to help my father, and with the advances in technology we started with semi-mechanized harvesting.The name of the Congonhal da Água Limpa was given after a water reserve was made, which we use, in abundance, directly from nature.The passion for coffee surpasses the advanced age of my father, who is still responsible for post-harvesting.
Currently, our main production is specialty coffee, and we believe that our differential is the result of all our dedication.We invested in a static dryer machine, which allows us to produce high quality coffee. Today I am proud to say that I produce specialty coffees. I am grateful to everyone in my family for the teachings and passion that brought me experiences and motivation to always seek the best for our farm.
