Building a better coffee world starts with us.
At Mercon Specialty, people are at the heart of all we do. This involves recognizing the hard work of producers, specialists, operators, and everyone else in the coffee industry. We recognize the need to empower women, assist producers, strengthen coffee communities, and form meaningful relationships. Our reach goes beyond merely providing exceptional green coffee, as we take pride in building lasting partnerships with amazing people.
(Leading Innovation Farmer Traceability)
LIFT is Mercon's proprietary sustainability platform that drives sustainable change in coffee-growing communities. Through LIFT, we work side-by-side with coffee producers to raise their quality of life by helping them improve their productivity in a social and environmentally conscious manner.
Developed in 2014 by Mercon Coffee Group, LIFT gives farmers access to a dedicated and intensive sustainability platform offering in-depth training, access to valuable tools and services, and input from some of the finest agronomists in the origins we operate. Most importantly, LIFT transforms the lives of those behind the coffees we so enjoy daily.
Every year, new producers are welcomed and introduced to a unique and holistic training program that is founded on the three pillars of LIFT: Productivity, Social Development, and Environment. These training sessions include coffee plant physiology and nutrition, protection and recovery of water resources, farm and pest management, and financial literacy—among many other topics.
Mercon’s proprietary LIFT Index evaluates farmer productivity, social development, and environmental impact. Performance is monitored to assess farmer growth and ensure a consistent, sustainable, high-quality yeild. Importantly, the LIFT program is fully digitalized, with data collected by agronomists analyzed and shared via the LIFT app.
Empowering Women Producers
We believe that true woman empowerment is about recognizing the influence women have on the green coffee industry. From producers to operators to quality specialists, these remarkable women come from all corners of the globe and we are proud to be working with them. Through our selection of woman-produced green coffee, we want to celebrate their contributions and make their green coffee accessible to all.
